For our 10th anniversary, we chose one of the original products FCD had when it was 1 year old: LDFA.
LDFA was a project we worked on previoiusly at the other company we cofounded (and subsequently left in 2014 to start FCD). When FCD was founded in late 2014, LDFA came with us to the new company, along with EMR and ABC/R, they were the first products FCD introduced in 2015, and are nearly as old as the company itself.
The 10th anniversary LDFA features a deep laser engraved Cygnus. We have always used Roman numerals to reflect the number of years of FCD's age, this year is the 10th year (X in Roman numerals). The Cygnus logo looks like the letter X, so it's used on the LDFA's plunger face, with no other markings.
Each 10th anniversary reqires 45 minutes of burn time to achieve the depth and definition we are happy with. True to our mission, decorative as it may be (we've never put our logo on LDFA in the past, and will not do so again), the plunger face offers very good traction, and LDFA is a mature, well proven product for left hand shooters.
Available plunger cap finishes: 17-4 stainless (uncoated), 4140 Cerakoted black, FDE, ODG, and purple for the dozens of you odd purple knights. The 17-4 stainless steel 10th anniversary LDFA is especially beautiful to behold. We rarely spend time on looks, but we did pay a lot of attention to these because they're special. The 10th anniversary LDFAs are unique if only because we typically spend about 1 to 2% of the development time on aesthetics, we opt to let the functions dictate the shape. The 10th anniversary LDFAs have both the functionality of a rimless forward assist, and the looks befitting a product made for a special occation.
