1815 is compatible with B&T A2 mounted RBS sound suppressor (RBQDN and Rotex-X), and the QDN hub adapter.
1815 has been discontinued, and is offered at 20% close out price.
We are a big fan of the A2 flash suppressor / compensator (compensator is the Army TM 9-1005-319-23&P, Air Force TO 11W3-5-5-42, Navy SW370-BU-MMI-010 designation). It is inexpensive, and does a decent job of what's asked of it. We went through a phase of expensive and fancy brakes and comps, all of them have worked well but we know they're not practical for defense/duty ARs. The flash, noise and concussion they produce are the result and byproduct of reducing the felt recoil (brakes) and keeping the muzzle down (comps).
Threaded for 1/2x28, precision machined from solid 4140 steel bar stock, heat treated and black nitrided, it is based on our successful 6315 compensator/flash suppressor. Its 3 and 9 o'clock ports are angled up at 8 degrees, and smaller than the 12 o'clock port so more gas is vented through the upward facing ports, it is a superior compensator to the A2, its flash suppression is superior to that of an A2, thanks to its open ended design. 1815 is compatible with M16 BFA and most A2 mounted sound suppressors. Note that since 1815 does have flash suppression capability equal to
that of an A2, it is to be treated as a flash suppressor for states that
feel threatened by them, such as CA, MA and NY.
Below is a composite picture of 1815 testing, with 10.5" barrel, we purposely test all of our flash suppressors with short barrels. The flash signature is significantly less with a 14.5" or longer barrel.
As on the 6315, there's a wire cutter feature on 1815, the wire cutter notch is located at 6 o'clock, and in conjunction with the 12 o'clock port, can be used to line up and hold the wire. Also like the 6315, 1815 is a light and short blended performance muzzle device. It provides 15 to 20% better muzzle rise compensation than the A2, and what is impressive is that it does so without sacrificing its flash suppression capabilities, or creating more noise and concussion.
The number 18 in its name pays homage to the Armalite AR 18/180, the shape of its ports draws heavily from the AR18/180's flash suppressor design. 1815 is a part of Forward Controls' x15 muzzle device series. Due to the abbreviated length of the prongs, 1815 will not ring or "ping" after each shot.
