Machined in G10, with the AA surface (All Angles, or dimpled) pattern we developed for our bolt catch (ABC/R), forward assist (LDFA), ambidextrous magazine release (EMR-A).  The AA concept was not developed for aesthetics, but as a versatile surface that offers equal traction from all angles of approach (thus the AA designation).  The AA surface can hardly find a better application than hand guard rail covers, where a user's hand can have multiple angles of approach, and hold the hand guard in different ways.

The AA pattern on the MCF is made of two dimple sizes and depths,  a series of large perforations / drain holes are drilled along its length in the middle row of dimples.

MCF is available in two lengths: MCF-S (short, 3.2", covers 2 MLOK slots) and MCF-L (long, 4.7", covers 3 MLOK slots), both come standard with MLOK mounting hardware.

Not as sharp as they look
The FCD MCF's have great grip but not an aggressive grip. These grips aren't sharp the way VZ Recon grips are sharp despite having a pattern that looks really similar. If you let the appearance of the pattern and the term G10 scare you off, take a second look. You don't need gloves to use these. These panels also do a great job of shielding your hands from gas block heat. If you have softer hands or your hands burn easy like mine do, these are great and a must have. They also don't heat up in the sun like bare rail does. I've left my rifle out in the south Texas sun and they didn't burn the shit out of me. The only negative I can come up with, and this is a ME problem, not a FCD problem, is that they aren't as sharp as they look. My hands are messed up, I don't have the grip strength I used to, and I prefer to compensate for that by using really sharp grips. I want DYNAMIC EXFOLIATION. I want VZ Recon level sharp. That's what the pattern looked like to me, which led to me being a little disappointed in the MCF but I'll still recommend them to anyone. I'm not going to subtract a star for a me problem so these are still getting 5 stars from me.
