ACF-L is an AR15/M16 ambidextrous charging handle based on our
ACF. Whereas with the ACF, we kept the T handle nearly the same length as that of the TDP spec charging handle, ACF-L (LPVO) has the T handle lengthened to better work with LPVOs and magnified optics.
The original ACF by design has a short T handle. A short T handle combined with a mildly swept back shape is far less snag prone than a long handle with a forward canting angle, it also doesn't stab the user in the chest or back when the rifle is slung. The short handle does have one compromise: LPVO and magnified optics users need a longer handle to clear the ocular lens of their optics.
Like the original ACF, ACF-L incorporates low snag probability T handle, the tip of the inverted T handle is rounded at the tips and mildly angled rearward so they can slide off, rather than snag on straps and pouches.
ACF-L's T handle is moderately lengthened from the original ACF's 2.2" to 2.6" (TDP's T handle length is 2.0", ACF's handle is 0.2" longer to protect the latches). The slight increase is just enough to make ACF-L easier to manipulate with LPVOs and magnified optics, but no longer than necessary.

Proudly designed and made in USA.
We want to thank Cain Frey for his input, and convincing us to finally bring the L version to market. A well respected match competitor, Cain articulated the reasons the short handled ACF could be improved for use with LPVO, essentially a longer handled ACF, but not too long. This fits our design philosophy of understated and minimalistic approach. In this case, ACF-L's T handle is just long enough to do the job, but no longer.
