Anodizing is a pain for nearly all manufacturers that require anodizing for their aluminum products, FDE being one of the more difficult colors to do well. The color can change batch to batch, shops that have done a great job for us for years would inexplicably (for us) turn FDE into coyote brown or start producing less than perfect finishes.
These laser engraved, camo patterned EPCs are something SMOS (Stubborn Mule, the company that makes EPCs for us) did as a fun experiment on EPCs that exhibit minor blemishes. They turned out so well, we asked them to make more of them.
These EPCs have laser engraved patterns, and instead of the regular Cygnus logo, they have the flock of ducks engraving, they're a fun way for us to use up what would otherwise be blemished EPCs, they are slightly more expensive, as they spend 3 to 4 minutes on the laser engraver.
Available in FDE and black (coming soon), for 223 TDP spec AR15/M16 upper receivers and 308 upper receivers (for KAC SR25 AND M110, newer models use longer port covers and pin, measure yours and make sure it's no longer than 3.32").
