PLACE HOLDER FOR LRA, MSRP IS ESTIMATED. LRA will be available from FCD dealers only.
LRA (lower receiver, ambidextrous) is a fully ambidextrous capable forged lower receiver, an ambidextrous bolt catch / release is shipped with LRA.
We name our products based on the first letters of the product description. PCM is Panel, Cable Management, CSR is Compact, Short sectional Rods, etc.
In total, there are (will be) four variants of FCD marked lowers:
* LRF (Lower Receiver, FCD), SOLGW and FCD collaboration billet lowers with a right side bolt release. LRF is in continuous production, produced and distributed by SOLGW.
* EWS (Evolve Weapons Systems) produced forged lowers with a small Cygnus logo on the right side of the magazine well, these were produced in limited quantity (200 to 250) in 2022.
* LRA (Lower Receiver, Ambidextrous), FCD roll marked forged lower receivers, produced and distributed by FCD. LRA is a fully ambidextrous, forged lower with an ambidextrous bolt catch
* LRB (Lower Receiver, B variant), FCD roll marked forged lower, produced and distributed by FCD. LRB is a non-ambidextrous, forged lower that shares other features with LRA.
Over the years, we've become more diversified in product offerings, we've gone outside of our lane a few times, sometimes we make a splash, others not a ripple. FCD was primarily focused on AR15/M16 platform for which we now make nearly every part, LRA is the last missing piece of the equation. We're not planning on making many of them, as LRA is intended as canvas to showcase the components we have developed and made for AR15/M16. There are many great ambidextrous lowers choices in the space: KAC, LWRC, LMT, SOLGW (LRF is a collaboration between SOLGW and FCD), we hope LRA will take its place among them.
Largely based on TDP dimensions with a low shelf, both LRB and LRA share three common features we want for an AR15 lower receiver:
* ABC (Automatic Bolt Catch).
* A fence for an ambidextrous magazine catch (on the left side of the receiver), also another feature on LRF.
* Better access to the take down pin. This feature is already on the LRF (SOLGW and FCD collaboration billet lower receiver).
LRA can accept, and is shipped with an ambidextrous bolt catch/release, whereas LRB cannot.

FCD was primarily focused on AR15/M16 platform for which we now make nearly every part, a lower receiver is one of the last missing pieces of the equation. As with other FCD products, LRA is made for work, not for show. LRA doesn't look very different from any in spec, forged lower since looks don't have any functional purpose. There is no skeletonized parts, or fashion (lightening) pockets. A 7075 forged lower is already light. a duty/defense rifle doesn't benefit from decorations.
LRA is available through FCD dealers only.
