The magazine button installation / removal tool isn't new. Norgon has had it version since early 2000s, our is not very different from the Norgon version.
For our MBIT (Magazine Button Installation Tool), we kept it simple , with a few small features added to make it easy to use.
1. Groove in the center of the tool to align it with the lower's bolt catch channel. This groove runs the entire length of the height of the MBIT.
2. Witness alignment hole. The witness hole can be lined up with the hammer pin hole to help align the MBIT.
3. A large surface area to better distribute the pressure from the magazine release button spring.
4. Texture on the bottom of the MBT to add traction/friction for the user's finger, or when the MBIT is used with a lower on top of it and placed on the bench top, it won't unduly shift and move.
After inserting the MBIT with the spring and mag release button in the mag button hole, you can either hold the MBIT with your hand, or put the lower down on a flat surface, ejection port side down with the MBIT below, simply rotate the mag catch 8 to 9 full turns, till the tip of the mag catch shaft is flush with the top of the mag release button
MBIT is printed from PLA+ in ODG, thanks to Patrick Fischer for working with us and printing these for us.
