RHF-H 11.75 is the first of RHF-H series to be available. 7.75, 10.75, 13.75, and 15.25 will follow. Titanium barrel nut option will be available in August.
RHF-H (Railed Handguard, FCD, Heavy) reflects a long standing focus on heavy duty use, it also retains some key features from the RHF we've had since 2016. The 2016 to 2026 RHFs are based on a CMT design with FCD specific features, such as staggered MLOK slots, round vent holes, deletion of QD sockets and aesthetic features.
RHF-H has Picatinny rails at 12 o'clock, and MLOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. RHF-H does not have built in QD sockets, users, not we, decide the location and sling attachment type. The location that works for one or many users may not be best for others, and the sling attachment they use might not be a QD swivel.
We never cared for the light weight fad. We lighten our pistol optics plates and ASF levers when weight saving serves real purposes, thus these lightening cuts are always invisible to the users. The original RHF became progressively heavier over the years as lightening cuts and small vent holes were removed. The focus and changes in RSF-H design are purpose driven for hard use, MIL and LE users. RHF-H is a heavy duty handguard with improved rigidity and durability. RHF-H is not a light weight handguard, one doesn't make something stronger by removing material from it.
RHF-H is made by ICON Defense that also produces our LRB, LRB lower receivers, and URF-F upper receivers. RHF-H retains the general principles of the original RHF, but incorporates many heavy duty elements to the design. The walls are slightly thicker, the barrel nut is 17-4 (with titanium option available soon), both heavier and longer. RHF-H uses an ICON Defense designed cam lock to secure the handguard to the heavy duty barrel nut. The anti-rotation feature would be instantly familiar to those that have used HDSI and SOLGW handguards, it has heavy duty anti-rotation tabs, as well as a pin hole for a dowl pin (included) for uppers (such as our URF-F, HDSI, SOLGW uppers) that have a pin hole above the gas tube hole.

RHF-H's barrel nut is a heavy duty component. At 2.05" long, 0.126" thick and 4.1 oz (17-4 stainless steel, or 2.08 oz for grade 5 titanium), it is
3 oz heavier and 0.29" longer than the legacy RHF's 7075 barrel nut, and contributes to the overall rigidity of RHF-H. It does not require a proprietary wrench, but is designed to use a common AR15/M16 armorer's wrench, or a quality castle nut wrench such as our
JCW (Joint Castle nut Wrench), or the included
DPW (Dual Purpose Wrench). Users do not need a proprietary, dedicated wrench that can't be used for anything else, the included DPW is a superb wrench in its own right, and can be used to torque castle nuts and suppressor mounts that use 3/4 flats.
DPW (Dual Purpose Wrench) has been a stand alone product. DPW is a superb dual purpose wrench and ships with RHF-H. Unlike most barrel nut wrenches that differ manufacturer to manufacturer and is used exclusively for torquing the barrel nut for the specific handguard, DPW is a small tool that can be used for other purposes (castle nut wrench, and suppressor optimized 3/4" wrench).

NOTE:
The first batch of RHF-H 11.75 are marked as RHF 11.75, the H suffix was added later and too late for this run.
The spacing inside RHF-H's anti-rotation tabs is 0.672". Some upper receivers have a much wider than TDP spec width, if this width is wider, RHF-H will need the anti-rotation tabs relieved before they can go over the wider section of the upper receiver. Please measure the width as indicated below if you're unsure.
